Smarter funding. Real impact.
Purpose of the Role:
The Community Manager will play a central role in growing and nurturing both sides of ActionFunder’s marketplace – supporting non-profits and helping funders connect with impactful local projects.
You’ll own and lead the non-profit side of the platform: building, supporting, and empowering a thriving community of non-profit organisations that are ready to deliver real impact. Acting as their primary point of contact and advocate, you’ll make sure they have the guidance, tools, and confidence to succeed.
At the same time, you’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Customer Success Manager and Head of Customer Success to drive engagement on the funder side – ensuring seamless fund delivery, great experiences for all users, and strong platform-wide participation.
This role is perfect for someone who loves building relationships, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about using tech for good to connect businesses and communities in ways that drive measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Non-Profit Community Ownership
- Act as the primary point of contact for all non-profits using ActionFunder – providing guidance, support, and encouragement though help desk, online chat and zoom phone.
- Advocate for the non-profit community internally, ensuring their needs and feedback inform platform and process improvements.
- Manage onboarding and engagement strategies to grow and sustain an active, diverse, and high-quality base of community partners.
- Develop and deliver initiatives that build non-profits’ understanding of funding opportunities and increase good quality applications. For example, owning the non profit Help Centre.
- Lead monthly online non-profit drop-ins to strengthen engagement and learning.
- Develop and enforce community guidelines and best practices
- Collaborate with marketing, customer success and sales teams to align community content with broader company goals
Fund Delivery & Funder Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for all funders on the ‘data only’ and ‘starter’ subscription plan – providing guidance and support, ensuring smooth delivery and strong relationships to ensure client renewal.
- Oversee due diligence checks and payment processes for funds closing on the platform, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Work with the Customer Success team to promote live funds to relevant community partners, maximising reach and quality of applications.
- Track and chase overdue project updates and impact surveys to maintain accurate data for funders and platform reporting.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure seamless experiences across the funder and non-profit journey.
- Partner with Marketing to craft targeted outreach campaigns and success stories that highlight non-profit impact.
- Work with Product and Tech teams to share user insights and contribute to feature development that improves non-profit experience.
- Support the delivery of events, training, and campaigns that bring funders and community partners together.
What Success Looks Like
- A thriving, engaged community of non-profits and funders who feel supported and valued.
- Increased quality and volume of non-profit projects on the platform.
- Efficient, accurate delivery of due diligence checks, payments, and fund administration.
- Timely collection of project updates and impact reports.
- Clear evidence that funder and non-profit insights are influencing ActionFunder’s growth and platform development.
