Friends of Stanley Hall Park have completed 500m of a 650m perimeter tarmac track around the fields adjoining the play areas which consist of privately funded play equipment, a MUGA, skate Park and 57 seat capacity fully accessible picnic area, we are now seeking grants to supplement funding of the remaining 150m, which, once complete will have a bespoke fit trail installed around its perimeter at 100m spacing.
The funding will go towards completion of the track to supplement the £15,000 already raised of a £21,000 total. This will then enable us to apply for a £10,000 grant already identified from the National Lottery Community Fund to install a fit trail suitable for all abilities as well as providing an enjoyable but fully accessible path through calming fields adjacent to the play areas.
Working alongside the Residents Association who installed 2 play areas and a MUGA, FoSHP has raised funds and installed a concrete skate Park and 57 capacity fully accessible picnic area on a paved patio with spaces for 15 wheelchairs or buggies. These facilities have greatly improved visitors to the park with visitors from Manchester and the larger Cheshire area visiting the skate park on a daily basis. We are a hands on group who regularly litter pick and carry out soft landscaping, including plans for a wild flower meadow. We carry out full consultation with users and residents before commencing any project and enjoy a good relationship with surrounding residents.
