Who can apply for the fund?
The focus will be on projects supporting the energy transition including upskilling in energy efficiency, construction, and engineering as well as new skills in emerging areas relating to carbon management and electric vehicle installation. This may include:
Training and education programmes
Careers awareness
Employability skills
How Shell UK is working with ActionFunder
Shell UK is working with ActionFunder to deliver the SkillsTransition Fund which will distribute grant funding to non-profits that are delivering, or have the potential to deliver, skills development. Funding will go to a range of non-profit projects located close to Shell UK service stations and will target communities that will benefit most from the support on offer.
The ActionFunder platform helps Shell UK to identify and fund non-profit projects that match their commitment to support the energy transition.
As part of the Shell UK SkillsTransition Fund, Shell UK customers are invited to vote for non-profits to receive grant funding of up to £10,000 per organisation.

Latest Funds from Shell UK
This fund is focused on 8 regional areas of the UK. The selection of projects will be within 10 – 15 miles of a selection of Shell Service Stations and voted on by the public. The fund will be eligible for projects in: Glasgow, Fife, North East England, North Central England, North West England, Midlands, Newport (Wales) and London.
Applying for funding on ActionFunder is a bit different. Here’s the process:

3. Post a project you want funding for
Your project will be automatically matched with any funds you meet the criteria for (grant amount, location, focus area). If you want to apply for one of the Shell UK SkillsTransition funds, make sure your project meets the fund criteria (found on the fund pages).
Your project will remain live on the platform (ready to match with new funds) until you successfully win funding. ActionFunder’s all about saving you time so that you can get on with what matters: community action.
